Collective Bargaining
These candidates will support our right to negotiate together for better wages, benefits and working conditions. They strongly oppose attempts to weaken our rights that we’ve fought so hard for.
Equal Pay
These candidates believe that companies should not pay women less than they pay men, which hurts working families and lowers their income. They will further strengthen discrimination laws and help close the pay gap.
Living Wage / Minimum Wage
These candidates believe that one full time job should be enough. That’s why they supported raising New Jersey’s minimum wage to $15 an hour by 2024 and indexing it to inflation so that working people will be paid a fair and living wage.
Education
These candidates value our public schools and educators and will make sure that they have the funding and support needed to educate our children. Every child in this state deserves access to a quality public education and these candidates are committed to that promise. And they will work to make college more affordable for working families.
Health Care
These candidates are committed to protecting our health insurance benefits, lowering the cost of prescription drugs, ensuring safe staffing, and state inspections of health care facilities so that patients and workers are protected.
Retirement Security / Pensions
These candidates believe that after a lifetime of work, all workers have earned retirement security. They will fight to protect our pensions and meet our state’s obligations. They will make sure the people managing our pensions are looking out for working people, not their own profits. They demand transparency and strong regulations on pension managers.
Project Labor Agreements / Prevailing Wage
These candidates will make sure state, county, and local contracts use Project Labor Agreements to ensure that construction work is safe and workers’ pay is fair. They will strengthen our prevailing wage laws so workers receive a fair return on our labor.
Public Employees
These candidates know that public servants in New Jersey deserve to be treated fairly. They will protect public services from privatization and oppose increased fees, reduced services and lower workforce standards.
Right To Work
These candidates strongly oppose any attempt to introduce anti-worker “right to work” laws in New Jersey. They understand that the real purpose of right-to-work is to tilt the balance of power toward big corporations and the wealthy and further rig the system at the expense of workers.
Infrastructure
Our state has serious infrastructure needs and these candidates are committed to fixing them. They will fund the much-needed improvements to repair our roads and bridges, invest in energy infrastructure, and modernize our transit system, all while creating good-paying union jobs.
Job Training
These candidates support job training programs that provide workers with the skills they need to find good paying jobs in today’s economy and will work to expand access to these programs so that no working people are left behind.
Buy American
These candidates want State, County, and local governments to use American-made products whenever possible on government purchases and construction projects and believe that government should support American workers.
Strong Public Services
These candidates want to ensure that our state works for working people. That’s why they support strong public services and oppose privatization, reduced services, and increased fees that fall primarily at the expense of working people.
Fair Treatment of Public Employees
These candidates know that public servants in New Jersey deserve to be treated fairly. They will always stand behind public employees and make sure promotions, hiring, and firing decisions are based on merit, not political favoritism.
Promotes Democracy
These candidates believe that New Jersey should make it easier, not harder, to vote. They support expanding voting rights and providing options for New Jersey voters to cast their votes for our elections.
Manufacturing
These candidates will work to keep good-paying manufacturing jobs here in New Jersey and will look for opportunities to bring more good-paying manufacturing jobs to our state when opportunities arise.
Local Transit and Gateway Project
These candidates support full funding for our transit systems so that they can make repairs and function efficiently and on time. They also will make sure that the Gateway Project rail line will be seen through to its completion.
Paid Family Leave and Sick Time
These candidates recognize that working people have the right to paid sick time and paid family leave when they are ill or need to care for their loved ones.
